How to Find Genuine Rudraksha
Understanding How to Find Genuine Rudraksha
Anything that is valuable and expensive, people finds a way to make a clone of it and then market the same around the world at a much cheaper price. First this is illegal and second the product is not genuine and will be of low quality.
Firstly rudraksha is very rare to find and cannot be found anywhere and everywhere however, these days rudraksha is sold anytime. One of the first things that one needs to see is the deep running lines through rudraksha which are found only in the real ones and although the artificial ones might also show such lines they are not as deep as the real ones.
If you are in the hunt for the pure rudraksha then there are a number of tests that one can do. First and easy test is the water test. It has been found that some rudraksha which are a little bigger in size like the Gaurishankar or the Trijuti rudraksha, are artificially made by joining two different rudraksha. To find this out, those rudraksha can be boiled in water for 20 minutes and if it is artificial then they will separate into 2 halves. Also, if a small sized rudraksha is boiled in the water for 30 minutes and nothing happens to its size, colour and shape or structure then it can be considered a genuine rudraksha. Some might think that the rudraksha which sinks in the water is the real ones but do remember that the artificial ones that have lead inside it also sink so, this might not be a reliable test.
Another very reliable test is the cut test where if you cut the rudraksha then you will notice that there is same number of compartments as the number of lines. However, the only drawback is that in the process the rudraksha will be destroyed. Copper test is another test many people do, as it is said that if rudraksha is kept in between two copper coins then it will rotate slightly towards the one. However, for this test one would need the help of an expertise hands.
Another test is the eye test; an expert eye can see that the mukhi of the rudraksha looks like closed lips. But again, this can also be a trick if just the mukhi of the real rudraksha is chipped off and stuck into the fake ones. Therefore it is said the most reliable test is the either the X-ray or the CT scan test of the rudraksha. Both of these tests will be able to give you the clear picture of the inside layers of the rudraksha however, the CT scan is even clearer but then it is also very expensive. However, the results they give are the most accurate ones. These are few of the tests to check if the rudraksha is a real one or not. It has become utmost important to find the genuinity of the rudraksha given the black market that is there in the world for such expensive item.
