Sun (Surya) is the planet that signifies father, army persons, and police. Sun holds very important place in Vedic astrology as all planets revolves around the sun. Many festivals are based on position of Sun. Sun remain in 1 zodiac sign for 1 month and dasa lasts for 6 yrs. Sun also represents Govt. sector and when afflicted by Rahu or Ketu also inflicts Pitra dosa.

If Sun is malefic or weak in the birth chart special remedies had to be followed which can strengthen planet Sun.

Offering water to rising sun in morning by chanting mantra "Om Shri Aditya Namah"
