The principal deity of this shrine is Lord Sri Bhadrakali Sametha Veerabhadra Swamy. Within the temple complex, there are sub-temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, Anjaneya Swamy and Ayyappa Swamy. The shrine opens at 5.00 AM and closes at 8.30 PM. It is to be highly remembered that priests of this temple is appointed from Jangama and Thambali castes who wholeheartedly serve the lord here. At this shrine, different types of Poojas and Sevas are performed to Goddess Bhadrakali Devi and Lord Veerabhadra Swamy. Sri Bhadrakali Sametha Veerabhadra Swamy temple of Bonthapally is an ancient temple. It is strongly believed to the established during or before the Kakatiya Empire. Within the temple complex, there are main sanctum dedicated to Lord Veerabhadra Swamy and Goddess Bhadrakali. This shrine is purely based on Dravidian architectural styles and pattern to a great extent. There aren't any shades of local or regional architectural features of Telangana. There is a lot of wood work in this temple that is rightly blended in it. The wooden door frames are beautifully carved with religious objects and floral designs. The sub-temples within the temple complex are arranged in a systematic pattern. The distance between the sub-temples and main sanctum are equal in distance. Based on these facts, it is strongly claimed that this temple was built as per Vasthusastra in those days. The courtyard of this temple is very broad that is apt for conducting various types of religious affairs with a lot of perfection. The ceiling and flooring of this temple really resembles that of an ancient temple. On the other hand, the shrine's exterior features and characteristics looks like a medieval Hindu temple. It is a well-fortified Hindu temple with two gateways in the opposite directions.
