Salasar Balaji temple comes under the religious circuit that comprises the pilgrim centers of Khatushyamji and Rani Sati temple. These temples are in close proximity to Salasar. According to the local legends and religious scholars, this temple was initially a small building and later built in a large manner. It is considered as self creation or Swayambhu by wish fulfillments, miracles, belief and faith of the adherent devotees and a Shakti Sthal or a place of power. There are many theories concerning the actual origins of Salasar Balaji. The theories are related to Ginthala Jat of Asota village in Nagaur district of Rajasthan, Mohandas Maharaj and Salasar. The idol of this temple looks different with round face with beard and moustache. The shrine is widely open for devotees and pilgrims from early morning hours 4am till late night till 10pm without any break. The religious activities of this shrine are regular worships of the deity with great faith and devotion, performing special Aarti on fixed time slots, feasting of Brahmins and other mendicants, recitation of Ramayan, recitation of Kirtan & Bhajans and arrangement for Savamanis that weight nearly 50 kg of sweets. In this shrine, the wholehearted recitation of Sundar Kand on each and every Tuesday of all months in the religious calendar in union by the singers happens with at most devotion and faith.
Salasar Balaji temple was constructed in a successful manner over a period of nearly 2 years. It was built by using marble, lime mortar, cement, stones and bricks. There was extensive usage of white marble in the construction of this temple mainly its main sanctum, the prayer hall and entire circulatory path with a lot of perfection. The sanctum sanctorum is fully covered with artistic work made with gold and silver. The religious object, doors and window are made of silver. The main gateway is entirely made up of carving works with white marble to a great extent. It is to be highly noted that floral design pattern is filled in the interior and exterior of this temple complex. A high quality sculpture can be witnessed in the main deity's idol.

All the major and minor festival is largely witnessed by millions of adherent devotees and pilgrims from each and every part of the nation. The temple's fair is also witnessed by nearly millions of devotees. It is to be remembered that this fair is really attractive as rest of the big fairs of this state. Moreover, sweet drinks and food is distributed free of cost to all who visit this shrine.
