Guptkashi literally means the hidden out Banaras. Which is also a holy place for the Hindus with confluence of rivers found here, which are originating from the Himalayas. Madhyamaheshwar Temple is the 4th Panch kedar to be visited in the Lord Shiva temple visit order on the Himalayas. This panch kedar pilgrimage is undergone from May to October months of a year annually. The other season are rain few and snow fed, which makes pilgrims unable to access. Either from November to April months this temple is closed for the devotees and pilgrimages. In the kedar seasons this temple is filled with many devotees including from foreign countries. Dhari Devi Temple is an important temple to be visited in the char dham pilgrimages. This Kali Maa is known to be the protector of these dhams on these mountains. The name Dhari is put since it was created by the villagers named Dharo. It is believed that the main deity changes here identity as a young girl in the morning and women in the mid day and an old woman in the evening. Here the Kali Maa is emerging out of a stone where her half portion only seen, either from head to the stomach area.



Kalimath Temple is one of the Shakthi Peetha for Hindus in the Dev Bhoomi on the Himalayas. Here Sathi Devi is worshiped as Maa, kalimath or the Mother Goddess. This is a great shrine for Shaktism, who is the believers in Devi, Kali or the Bhagavathi Maa.
