Sri Rama Lingeswarar temple is situated on the hill top with pleasant environment and religious atmosphere. As per the local legends, Lord Sri Rama after rescuing Mother Sita was on His way back returning to Ayodhya after in a successful manner winning over Ravana. The Rajagopuram of Sri Rama Lingeswarar temple stands facing towards the East direction. It is a 5 tier building structure with several images of Hindu Gods and Goddess. After the Flag post and Nandi is situated the Festival Mandapam. With Dwarapalakas on both sides, the sanctum sanctorum comes next to it. Lord Muruga on the left with His consorts Valli and Deivanai and Lord Vinayaka is on the right side. In the mandap just outside the main sanctum, Mothers Bhavani and Shiva Durga are in the shrines. In a Linga form of a small size, Lord Ramalingeswara in the main sanctum sanctorum graces the adherent devotees. According to the local legends of this particular region, Lord Sri Rama had wholeheartedly worshipped this Swayambumurthi when He visited this spot. The shrine also has attractive temples separately for Lord Rama with Mother Sita and Lord Lakshmi Narasimha. All benefits to the devotees are ensured by this Shiva-Vishnu temple. The flooring and ceiling of this temple resembles like an ancient Hindu temple's feel and experience with a lot of perfection. The courtyard of this temple is much spacious that is rightly suitable for various kinds of religious functions and activities to a great extent.
Maha Shivrathri is very devotionally celebrated in the temple in the month of February-March. The temple remains wide open at whole night on this auspicious day. A large number of adherent devotees visit this temple on this day in order to seek the blessing of this Lord. The day is marked with special pujas and abhisekhams. On this occasion, different types of offerings are given by the devotees at this shrine. Women folks indulge in Bhajans and keerthans in group. People visit this temple with their family members, relatives and close friends. Most of the major and minor festivals related to Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Rama are grandly celebrated in a religious manner. People from the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secundrabad plus rest of the state of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana visit this temple with great faith and devotion.
