Neemach Mata Temple is Located on top of a hill on the banks of the Fateh Sagar Lake, in Dewali region, in the district of Udaipur, in the state of Rajasthan, in Northwestern India. There are both uphill slope and stairs to reach this temple that is nearly 900 meter long. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Neemach Mata devi. There is a sub-temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh. There are also three west-facing lions made of single stone within the temple premises. It is to be highly noted that from top of the hill, one can have a whole view of the city of Udaipur and its lakes. It is a pollution-free zone as no vehicles are allowed in the hill boundary. It is one of the most sought after and most frequent spot for picnic and recreation activities too.

Neemach Mata Temple Religious Significance

It is to be remembered that Neemach Mata is the kuldevi of family with surname Dokot khandan of Bhatnagar(kayasth). Most of the Dokot family members along with their close relatives and friends assemble at this particular shrine on the occasion of Haryali amavsya in order to perform the special pooja and other religious rituals every year. The temple priests are appointed by the joint committee of the Dokot families. The priests are well-qualified in religious matters and poses vast experience is religious rituals. The remains open from late morning to early evening hours without a break. People are not allowed to remain on the hill top after sunset so they are advised to climb down in the evening hours. A good number of visitors and tourists visit this shrine with lot of interest and with devotional aspects. Most of the religious affairs and rituals are conducted as per the ancient Vedic rules and regulations to a great extent.

Neemach Mata Temple Architectural Significance

Neemach Mata temple is purely based on North Indian Hindu temple architectural style and pattern. The 900 meter long stairs for climbing up and down the hill in order to reach the shrine is beautifully laid with lot of perfection. There are shades or roof constructed on the pathways of the stairs and hill slop for shade. The entire main building structure is small when compared to other hill top Hindu temples in this region. It is an open Hindu temple without any type of fortification with high raised wall structure. There is just one sub-temple that is dedicated to Lord Ganesh on the hill top. There aren't any sub-temples on the pathway of hill slop or adjacent to the stairs. The main attraction of this temple is the three lions. The details of the three lion sculpture are really marvelous. It is a master piece of high quality sculpture work. The flooring and ceiling of this temple looks so simple in many aspects. There are just few rooms adjacent to the main sanctum that is used as prayer hall and other religious purpose with a lot of perfection.

Neemach Mata temple is popularly known for grandly celebrating Hariyali Amavasya in a religious manner. On the eve of this auspicious day, a good number of Dokot families visit this shrine for thanks giving for this Goddess and pray for a set of personal and professional wishes and desires to get fulfilled in life. They pray with full dedication and commitment to this particular Goddess with great faith and devotion. This shrine is visited by good number of tourists and visitors during the summer season and winter season witness less climbers.
