Navanatha Siddeshwara Temple is located in a rock formation called Siddula Gutta, in Armoor, Shamshabad, district Nizamabad, in the state of Telangana, in South India. It is a rock temple that belongs to the ancient period in this particular area. Recently, the Panchayat has laid the cement road from the nearby village main road in order to access to this shrine. This road is the only access to reach this particular rock temple from the south direction. Trekking through any other direction is a dangerous task because of the presence of wild animals and thorny poisonous bushes. It is highly advised to move towards this temple in a small group and self venture should be avoided under any situations and circumstances. It is one of the rear rock temples in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

According to the local legends and religious scholars, it is strongly believed that in the ancient times, nine sages lived in this hillock who deeply doing meditation for the positive purpose on this earth. They were very powerful sages and local people used to seek their blessing for a happy and prosperous personal and professional life. On the other hand, this holy spot was called as Navanathapuram which means in the Telugu language as the place of nine sages. The shrine was popularly known as Navanatha Siddeshwara Aalayam. The principal deity of this shrine is Lord Siddeshwara which means Lord of sages. It is claimed that worshipping this lord wioth great faith and devotion, miracle will happen in life as desired or wished. A satisfactory result is one the way to bring smile on the face through lord's blessing in a wholehearted manner. Local people, adherent devotees and pilgrims actively participate along with their family members, relatives and close friends in the various types of pujas, rituals, homams, and yagnas conducted in this shrine in a religious manner with a lot of perfection.

In the ancient period, the holy spot of Navanathapuram was just caves where the nine sages were believed to have resided and indulged in deep meditation. In the medieval period, the caves were converted into cave temples in smaller size. In the modern period, a building structured cave temples were raised on the actual spot by the rulers and people of this region who patronized it to a great extent. Navanatha Siddeshwara Aalayam is based on the local and regional Hindu temple architectural styles and patterns. It completely doesn't have the shades of South Indian or Dravidian Hindu temple architectural styles and patterns. It also doesn't have any influence of the Marathi or Kannadiga architectural features blended in it. This rock temple is incorporated with regional and local temple structural features and characteristics with a lot of perfection. The main sanctum is on a smooth raised platform where the Lord Siddeshwara is intalled in the middle. The main sanctum has an average sized tower or Vimana. It is a fully fortified Hindu temple with one gateway for entrance and exit. The nearby well water is used for the religious ritual purpose.

Navanatha Siddeshwara Aalayam of Siddula Gutta celebrates its annual temple festival in the month of Karthika as per the Telugu religious calendar in a grand manner. A good rush of local people from the nearby villages, adherent devotees and pilgrims from the rest of the Nizamabad district actively participate in this particular annual festival. This festivity is marked with special poojas, homams and yagnas. Most of the Hindu auspicious days and festive days are celebrated with special rituals at this shrine.
