Information of Kurumurthy Rayudu Temple, Mahbubnagar, Telangana

Kurumurthi Rayadu temple is located in the village named Kurumurthi, in the district of Mahbubnagar, in the state of Telangana, in South India. It is approximately 25 Kms far from Kothakota on the National Highway No. 7 in between Kurnool and Hyderabad. The principal deity of this temple is Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy. There is train facility readily available from Hyderabad directly towards Kunool. The nearest station is Madanapuram or Kurumurthi Railway station. It is a hill temple. According to the local legends and religious experts, in olden days this particular shrine was in a deep cave in between two large mountains. During A.D 1350, the shrine was in a successful manner constructed in a religious manner. It is to be remembered that the public darshan for the Hindu devotees is permitted from only 8.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. and later again from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m and Sevas and Poojas are religiously held between 6 p.m. and 8 pm. It is to be highly noted that this temple remains closed between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. plus after 8 p.m. The shrine is the best religious spot for conducting various types of special poojas, humoms, yagna and traditional and cultural functions and activities with a lot of perfection.
