Information of Sri Ketaki Sangameshwara Swamy Temple, Jharasangam, Medak, Telangana

Ketaki Sangameshwara Swamy temple is located in the village named Jharasangam, in the district of Medak, in the state of Telangana, in South India. This is an old Shiva temple in this region. According to the local legends, this particular Shiva Lingam is largely said to have been directly established by Lord Brahma. On the other hand, there is a tale related to this temple that during "Krutha Yug", Raja "Kupendra" king of Surya Vamsha was seriously ailing from a major skin disease hasn't found any type of remedies to get cure of his major disease. While routine hunting, he happened to directly reach the Ketaki Vanam where he found a stream, where he immediately washed his body. He immediately found that the said disease was completely cured after reaching his home. That night, Lord "Sangameshwara" wholeheartedly appeared in his dream. The Lord asked the king to successfully construct a temple over "Shiva Lingam". He did as ordered by the Lord and converted in a successful manner the stream into a "pushkarini" which was later named as "Astha Theertha Amrutha Gundam" and known as "Dakshina Kasi".
