The history behind the temple has been woven around the life of the founder named Shree Durga Charan-anuragi Baba Sant Nagpal. The saint was full of humbleness and did not permit his followers to glorify his name in any manner. He was born in Karnataka during the full moon day of Holi festival in the year 1981B.S. His parents died at a tender age. It is said that during the cremation of his mother a strange lady took him to the nearby temple belonging to Maa Durga. She said that Maa was the real mother who would not leave him any day and would take good care of him. Since that particular day, Maa Durga gave him her abode. The saint has also been completely dedicated and surrendered to the Divine Mother in terms of thought, words and deeds.
The overall temple complex which has been spread over 60 acres tends to possess around 20 small as well as big temples. The main Goddess in the temple is Goddess Katyayani who is part of Navadurga.
