The temple was built by the wife of the ruler Raja Madhukar i.e. Maharani Gansh Kunwar by keeping the idol of lord Rama in it. However, in the later scenario she seek to relocate the idol of Rama in a temple made in her private apartment which was called the Rani Niwas. But the interesting fact in this context is that the idol of lord Rama refused to move from the place which is again was a supernatural aspect of some sort. In this regard, in order to move the idol to her personal apartment, the raja came up with the idea of replacing the idol of Lord Rama with Lord Vishnu with four hand. This aspect further ensured the name Chaturbhuj for the temple owing to the four arm temple of lord Vishnu. One can find Lotus emblems along with other symbols of religious significance within the temple. The four-armed deity of the temple is considered to be by many as quite sacred and wishes are being fulfilled by the same for the visitors.

The temple or the structure depicts the rich architectural style of the 15th to 16th century local Hindu architecture. Both the interior and exterior of the structure has been well preserved over the last 400 years or so. One can depict the massive ornamentation in the exterior of the temple. The temple has a special enshrine image of Lord Rama. It is believed that the temple was built upon a big stone structure which has huge steep flight.
