Lord Narasimha is a half human and half animal as per mythic beliefs. He is a mighty god for the Hindus. Many take pilgrim to this holy place to get blessing from this god. Many devotees like to shave their head from this temple as a personal sacrifice of hair to this temple. There are two main deities inside this cave. One is the man deity of Lord Narashima and the other is the Shiva Linga. Both of the deities are placed in two different corners of the caves. Worshiping both the gods at a time is considered to be very sacred.
Many pilgrims come here to get their sins washed away by taking a holy dip in this temple pond. The Sanskrit word Papa means the Sin and Nash means to destroy. The Lord Shiva is also known as the destroyer of evils. Hence, many devotees come here and take a dip in this pond and worship Lord Shiva to get rid of their past sins. The Maha Shiva Rathri is the main festival here and attracts lot of pilgrims. Here devotees are allowed to do their personal pooja's and offerings to gods.
