According to the historians belong to the state, when Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah constructed the Charminar, a holy stone was at the present temple site. Later, adherent devotees started applying haldi and kumkum to the holy stone. In the 1960s, Goddess Lakshmi's idol was grandly installed plus a small shed was added to the base of Charminar. And the state police department. This temple has been the hot spot for communal tension very frequently.

Festivals at Bhagyalakshmi Temple

Bhagyalakshmi Temple is known among adherent devotees for the grand celebration of Deepavalli and Desara in the old city of Hyderabad.
