Information of Anjaneya Swamy Temple, Kondagattu, Karimnagar, Telangana

Anjaneya Swamy Temple is located in the village named Kondagattu in Malyala mandal, in the district of Karimnagar, in the state of Telangana, in South India. It is nearly 35 km away from the town of Karimnagar. It is situated amidst hill and valley in a scenic spot. According to the local legends, this shrine was constructed by a shepherd called Singala Swamy ji approximately 300 years ago. The current temple was renovated and newly built in a successful manner by Krishnarao Deshmukh of Kodimyala just 165 years back. The primary deity of this shrine is Lord Sri Anjaneya whose idol was found in this region. It is just nearby Bojjapotana caves and the fort of Kondalaraya.

Anjaneya Swamy Temple Religious Significance

Anjaneya Swamy Temple has three Sanctorums within the temple complex that are dedicated to Lord Sri Venkateshwara, Goddess Lakshmidevi and Lord Sri Anjaneya. It is strongly believed that if a women who wholeheartedly offers puja with much dedication and commitment for 40 days at this shrine then she will be blessed with a child immediately to lead a happy personal life. The adherent devotees worship for their agility, valor and strength. The Lord is affectionately called as Pavanputra, Marutinandan, Hanuman, Bajarangbali, Mahaveer, Anjaneya and Anjani Putra. Hanuman Chalisa is read on all auspicious day at this temple. Anjaneya Swamy Temple's architectural style and pattern belongs to the period of ancient and medieval era. The tower of the main temple is moderate in height when compared to other Hindu temples of Vemulavada region. The prayer is vast with many pillars that are cared with beautiful images of local Gods and Goddess. The temple premise is dotted with main temple and sub-shrines that are dedicated to Hindu temple built in equal distance. The prayer hall is apt for conducting different types of religious functions and activities with a lot of perfection. According to the local legends, this shrine was built as per the Vasthu Sastra that was followed in those days to a great extent. This reason was cited by them because there are certain variation in the South Indian temple architectural styles and patterns in certain aspects to a great extent. It is a four-sided walled temple with separate entry and exist gateways with tall Gopurams.
