Shahi Masjid is located in the Public Gardens, in Red Hills, in Lakdikapul, in Hyderabad, in the state of Telangana, in South India. It is really a majestic mosque in all aspects. It is a popular pilgrimage center that is perfectly located inside the Public Gardens which is one of oldest gardens in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secundrabad that was built during the Nizam rule in 1846. This mosque is also known as Royal Mosque among the local people of this region because the last Nizam along with his family members, relatives and close friends used to visit this particular on Fridays and during special festivals such as Eid in order to offer wholehearted prayers with great faith and devotion.

It is to be remembered that Public Gardens is also known as Bagh-e-Aam. It was built by Osman Ali Khan, the VIIth Nizam of Hyderabad in 1846. It is a historic park located in the heart of the twin city of Hyderabad and Secundrabad. It is one of the oldest parks in Hyderabad.
