According to the local legends and historians, in 1421, in the north of city, Azam Humayun got a small mosque built for his beloved queen, which is at present known as Bibi Ki Masjid. As the population of the town increased, Adil Shah built the current Jama Masjid in the heart of the town in 1590. It was built within 5 years later. This gave easy access to them. Even during the rule of Hindu, Muslim and British rules, this religious center was a spot of religious harmony.
