Sadul Museum is in lallgarh palace which is an excellent work of Mugal and Rajput architecture. The entire structure is built from the red sandstone conveyed from the Thar Desert Region. There are many marble works found here with artistic carving works. Since it was built in the early part of 20the Century, it has got a mix of European works in all major portions of the palace. The structures itself have a magnificent architectural looks from outside and inside the palace. Here there are large halls with cylindrical pillars, domes on the tops and many sub rooms to cater various needs in the palace. A swimming pool is built inside the palace which adds more luxury to the palace. This palace was aimed to hold larger peoples to accommodate it by the royal clans.
Sadul Museum is a historical museum that was granted by the great Rajput Maharaja Karni Singh Ji in 1970s. Still the royal family of Bikaner lives here in a portion of the palace as a royal patronage in the Rajasthan aristocracy. A trust is formed by the family members and to support the funding of the museum and palace a portion of the palace is left to heritage hotel. The government also funds this palace to preserve these valuable monuments in India. In the museum there are many arts and crafts related to the Rajaputana kingdom. Nearly twenty two large rooms occupy these valuable art and antiques. Painting works are marvelous to see. There are king's collections of arms, jewelry, clothes and valuable gems and diamond fixed articles. It also has the British viceroy's paintings and their belongings. A few British made articles are found there like guns and rifles. This museum is named after the Rajput king 'Maharaja Sadul Shigh ji.
Sadul Museum is open from Monday to Saturday and Sunday is kept for maintains related work. Its public timings are 10 AM to 5 PM as visiting hours to the museum. Entry fees start from Rupees thirty and depends upon the age and ethnicity. Peoples come here to see the Indian valuables and art crafts. This museum has the unique collection of the Rajaputana kingdoms antiques and pictures. It also displays the ruling order held in the royal Rajputs in writing and in paintings. The heritage hotel is on the other portion and it is advisable to stay here for luxury and comfort stay in a historical monument. There are cheaper hotel to a five star one. But most of the tourists prefer heritage hotels, since Rajasthan is bound with heritages. Rajasthan climate is too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter.
