The Rani Udaymati Vav is a particular place that is located in the Indian state of Gujarat. It was primarily constructed in the year in and around the 11th century. There are also statues of a man on an elephant within a particular section of the fort. The people in the place were mainly worshipped lord Vishnu owing to which one can see many avatars of lord Vishnu on the statues that depicts very expressive faces and eyes. It has been noted that not only the eyes and faces the portraits also depicts the body language of lord Vishnu in different scenarios. Apart from that there are also many beautiful statues of lord Shiv and Parvathi standing together along with lord Buddha riding on a horse among others.

Rani Udaymati Vav History

Notably the palace i.e. The Rani Udaymati Vav was mainly constructed during the reign of the Rani Uday Mati in the year 1100 years. The fort or the palace was mainly built by the ruler in the memory of his beloved husband i.e. Bhimdev Chalukya. He was the ruler of the Solanki dynasty. The Solanki dynasty was one of the largest and the most successful in the history of Gujarat. The dynasty under the rule of Bhimdev Chalukya took overall control of certain part of Gujarat in between the period of 1022 AD and 1063 AD. Bhimdev Chalukya was a kind of a ruler that was adored by the people of the dynasty for his kindness and work done for the entire dynasty. The king was wedded to Rani Uday Mati. The Rani Udaymati Vav has a rich historical status in terms of the statues that can be found within the structure. The vav has an outstanding 120 step-wells in Gujarat most of which were restored by the period 1980s. It has been noted that the step-wells of the fort were built in the year 1050s.

The Vav is about 125 kilometer far from Ahmedabad, Gujarat and 53 kilometers from Mehsana from where it can be easily accessed by people through roadways. The care taker of the Vav is Muslim who was also very hardworking and kind in terms of his work owing to which each of the parts of the fort is well preserved over the years. Hence, these aspects will also attract tourists all over the state.
