Since it was privately owned by the Malwa family, the government bodies were unable to stop its sale. The state government also gave them an option to keep its portion and the remaining portion to be held with archeological department to convert it as museum. But there were much indifference among its family members. When it was planned to demolish, it was given the police protection for a longer period of time. Since the stay order by public interest litigation and the courts snail process made it lesser importance, and public to lose its interest due to politics and real estate mafias.
