Architecturally, the monument extensively shows the significance and touch of the local Gujarat architecture. Again, it has also been perceived that a clear and affirmed thought could not be presented about the architectural style of the palace since it has a history of more than 20 centuries. The building is mainly a two storied monument. In terms of size, it definitely not one of the biggest in Gujarat. There are several rooms in each of the floor of the monument and one can surely witness many blank spaces within the interior of the haveli. There is a room in the second floor of the monument which is believed to be used by Lallubhai to held meetings and attend the people who visits him. It is also perceived that the room in the upper floor was used as a space for conference with large number of people during that time. The big space left in this region of the haveli also affirm the aforementioned aspect. There is also a court room within the palace which was used by the owner for his personal purpose. The Haveli showcases attractive architecture which mainly comes from the richly designed imprinted wood in the pillars and roofs. There are arrangements within the palace to position matchlock guns which is again one of its kind feature of the fort. There are numerous unexplored undergrounds routes within the palace that were used to hide and escape during battle or emergency.
The city of Bharuch can be said to be the oldest in Gujarat with a history of around 2000 years or so. However, the existence of the haveli is only 250 years old. It was built in and around the year 1791. Lallubhai who was the ex-divan of Bharuch is credited for building the monument years ago. It is interesting to note that Lallubhai was the divan of the last nawab of Bharuch and after this monument no such structure were built in the dynasty. The fort is being seen among the top rank structures in Gujarat. It has been observed that a major part of the fort has been diminished during the major earthquake in Gujarat. However, despite of this particular aspect one cannot deny the historical importance of the haveli.
