Jaisalmer Fort is built on Rajput architecture of the early 12th Century AD. It is a dynamics structure in the desert land of Rajasthan. It is built with Yellow and red sandstones. This fort is a strong fortification surrounded by three major walls, which give its maximum protection from local and foreign invasion. It is a large fort designed in a rectangular pattern. It has many cylindrical wall extensions, mainly erected for garrison purposes. In side there are large floors for storage.
Nathmalji Ki Haveli is a replica of Arabic and Rajput architectural pattern. The overall construction was supervised by two Islamic brothers named 'Lulu and Hathi'. The Arabic art and crafts form are visible since these brothers took advices from the Middle East travelers in those times. It is the only structure which was not planned and built. These brothers started the work from here and there and on completions it was odd looking but splendid too.
Patwon Ki Haveli is built by Guman Chand Patwa, basically a well rich trader in Jaisalmer. The set the foundation in 1805 and the structure were erected in minor cluster as an endowment to his five lads. This Haveli construction took almost fifty years and completed in the year 1860. On its completion it was a canticle structure. The red and yellow sand stones are the major building material. There are many balconies, well crafted arch doors, carved pillars and painted rooms.
Salim Singh Ki Haveli is of versatile architectural works. It was built on a 300 years old palace; the mansion which was completely built on it was very attractive to see. It follows the strict Rajput pattern of architecture. It is made of yellow and red sand stones. It has one of the splendid marble works. There are large and small rooms with beautiful fresco and well carved pillars, doors and windows. It has unique balconies, which are more than 40 in numbers.
