As per the version of the historians and local legends, there are two histories related to Gurudwara Shri Toot Sahib. The first history of Gurudwara Shri Toot Sahib cites that the Sixth Guru, Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji tied his horse with the tree of named toot plus sat on the platform just down the tree. It is from this event or situation which the name is famous known as gurdwara toot Sahib Ji. On the other hand, the second history of Gurudwara Shri Toot Sahib mentions that many legends converted to Sikhism at this place and became adherent followers of this region with great faith and devotion. At this Gurdwara, prayer meeting and rituals are conducted at auspicious time schedules as per the day with large participation of local people and visitors. People come with lot of desires and wishes related to their personal and professional life. They pray for getting these wishes and desires get fulfilled in their life with the blessing of the God. It is strongly claimed that this Gurdwara in Amritsar is very powerful because prayers are heard in a right manner and solution derived in a satisfactory manner.

On the eve of festivity and auspicious days, a large number of local people with their family members, relatives and friends visit this Gurdwara with keen interest and fulfill their religious rituals in a wholehearted manner. Local people with lot of interest participate in the religious affairs of this particular religious spot.
