Founded by Guru Nanak, the first Sikh Guru Sikhism is one of the well known religions of the world. In India this religion is the fourth largest one to be followed. It has existed since the past 500 years and their followers are seen predominantly in the region of Punjab. The worship house of this particular religion is known as the "Gurudwara". The word Gurudwara means "the way to reach guru or sage" and it can also be interpreted as "the gateway to guru". The best thing about Gurudwara is that it always keeps it doors open to people from all walks of life irrespective of their caste, creed, color or religion. The origin of Gurudwaras is said to have begun from the holy city of Amritsar where the religion was founded. The temple is designed by Guru Arjan Sahib, the fifth Sikh Guru. The temple is built in the tradition Sikh architecture of Gurudwaras. The Harmandir Sahib is built surrounding the sacred tank of Amritsar known as the Sarovar. The tank is fed by River Ravi. The Gurudwara is built on a land lower than the adjoining lands, so the shrine can be reached by a few flights of stairs going down. The Gurudwar has four entrances and the the interior of the structure is decorated with masterpieces of the Sikh Gurus and saints.

Guru ka Taal is a historical Sikh sacred place which is devoted to the memorial of ninth guru named Tegh Bahadur ji. Guru ka Taal is situated near Sikandra of Agra. This Gurudwara was created on the location where Guru Tegh Bahadur had laid down his arms in order to provide detention to Mughal king Aurangzeb.
