Detailed Information about Peerla Panduga Festival & Its Importance

India is known for its spirituality and religious background. Here most of the festivals are celebrated are on religious background and importance. India is the only country which celebrates thousands of festivals in one or the other form all around the India.Looking into this the Indian Government decided to boost the peace and harmony by exposing India's spiritual countenance to the world. Similarly the state government also took initiative in this and they motivated by forming their own tourism department.

Hyderabad the capital of Andhra Pradesh is famous for its beautiful and remarkable mosque. The most famous and largest among these masjids is Mecca Masjid which is situated in the South India near Charminar located in the old city of Hyderabad. This masjid occupies the third lagest among the Masjids in India, after Jama Masjid of New Delhi and the Mosque of Gulbarga. This masjid was constructed by QuiliQutb Shah but lately in 1614 it was completed by the famous Mughal Aurangzeb. This mosque is considered to be actual symbol of harmony and peace and this famous mosque, this famous mosque is only known as "PeerlaPanduga". In which both Hindu and Muslims take part in as a harmony and peace.

In the month of Moharram (a month according to Islamic calendar), on its 10th day when the sun sets the Shiya Muslims dressed in black dress (men, women, children) comes out to head for 'ashurkhanas' -- the congregation halls. This is located in the old city of Hyderabad where they come to mourn the death of hazarat Immam Hussain, the grandson of Prophet Mohammad, who died in the battle of 'Karbala'.

Getting into these ten days of Moharramone is sure to be swept away by the religious frenzy. The devotees wail in pain and beat themselves on their chest shouting the name of Imman Hassan telling 'YaHasssan' and 'YaHussain'. The women wail and cry for the miss happen that happen in the past. For 10 days the Shiya Muslims do not clean their house especially the web dust made my little spiders. As it is said that and history says that during the battle of Karbala the Prophet Mohammad hid himself in the cave where the spider made a huge web in order to hide and save their beloved Prophet.

On the 10th day of Moharram the festival is actually ended by the huge procession which is carried by the people of Hyderabad. The procession stats from many places but mainly from peerlapunduga the main procession is out in the city. The procession has youngsters who beat their chest and play sword game and competitions are held. The procession shouts the words 'Ya Hassan' and 'YaHussain'. The 'Tajia' is also carried by the procession which is a decorated structure which is buried under the ground once the procession is over.
