Nimar Utsava is a festival celebrated every year in Maheshwar in Madhya Pradesh. The festival is of three days where every people celebrate the festival with music, dance and feast. Boating is the main attraction of this festival; the tourists are welcomed here with all kind of security and facilities. The festival is organised by the government of Madhya Pradesh. The festival is celebrated near the bank of river Nirmada. River Narmada is a scared river of Hindus, it flows through the numerous citied of the country. It is said the river Nirmada is sanctified to be the healing and revitalizing holy water according to the Hindu culture. The river passes through the Maheshwar city, and come across the beautiful festival of Nimar Utsava. This is considered to be one of the most important pilgrimage places for Hindus, famous for not only this but also for the regime of Holkar Queen, Maheshwar rose into prominence. Maheshwar is famous for saree which is popularly known as Maheshwari Silk. The festival is celebrated on the full moon day of the Kartik month according to the Hindu calendar which falls in September or October. This festival relishes the love, fun and joy of the festival with great enthusiasm and excitement.

In Nimar Utsava the roaring boat is the main attraction of the festival, since the festival is held near the bank of river Nirmada the competition are held, where people from far off places come to participation of the. The participation of the people is encouraged by the tourism department of Madhya Pradesh. The locals celebrate the festival by enjoying the cultural programme in which musics, dance, drama and entertainment can be seen and relished. In spite of diversity in the state the festivals are celebrated at its utmost love and belief in Almighty. In order to reach this wonderful place we can take a flight from the nearest airport in Indore, which is around 91 km away from Maheshwar and takes 3 hours to reach there. For the railways the Barwaha is the closest station but every train do not halt at that place, so the better option is going to Indore stations, which is also 91 km away. Buses and taxi are directly connected to the road joining Maheshwar.
