The Poomully Mana Ayurveda Treatment Centre is the traditional home for Authentic Ayurveda Centre in Palakkad District of Kerala State. It is practicing and teaching many Ayurveda aspirants since past 500 years as customs family who have mastered this ancient art with lot of experience followed in their generation. This Mana belongs to a well known Nambudhri family. Currently it is functioning as trust. It is well known for its authentic Ayurvedic treatments, Kalari and for the famous Kathakali costumes. This is a tradition house having all facility to get ayurvedic treatment with accommodation in their Mana which is a vast place surrounded by lush greenery with peaceful environment. Many international and from within India peoples come here to take Ayurveda massages, treatments as wellness and for rejuvenation of body and mine from here. This is not a training centre to provide certificate but a treatment center for wellness where Yoga and Ayurveda is part of the treatment. They conduct few training programs as a special workshop.

This is traditional house with ample facilities to accommodate in individual buildings. It has library's containing the ancient books on Ayurveda and Vedic texts. This is also known as the heritage library. It has a museum of vintage articles those of Kerala costumes, musical instruments and costly antiques. A training centre for Meditation, Yoga and Kalari is present with in this Mana. The Poomully Mana Ayurveda Treatment Centre its self is a garden of herbs. It has got three ancient pond of mineral values. A beautiful temple is also found inside this Mana. All of these facilities make it a unique place for the ancient art of living place. It is best place in Palghat valley who wishes to take an Ayurveda massage and take little general wellness treatment with Mother Nature.

Authentic Ayurveda Centre of Poomully Mana

The 8 branches of Ayurveda are followed here such as the Kaya Chikitsa or the General Medicine. The Bala Roga Chikitsa or the treatment for Pediatric, the Graha Chikitsa or the Treatment for evil spirits, the Shalya Chikitsa or the Surgery, Visha Chikitsa or the Toxicology, Rasayana Chikitsa or the Rejuvenation Therapy, Vajeekarana Chikitsa or the Aphrodisiacs, Urdwanga tantra or the E.N.T & Ophthalmology. The Methodology practiced here are the Tridosha Ayurvedic types such as Vata, Pitha and Kapha. The special treatments are given here such as the Ayurvedic massages with herbs and herbal oil. The general wellness's Do's and Don'ts are thought to its patients.

Duration: These treatments may take a 2 weeks time to 60 days time to get full benefits of the Ayurvedic treatments. This also depends upon the treatment you wish to undergo from this center. The physicians will tell you the exact days required to undergo from its patients.

Food: The food provided here is of pure vegetarian and are specially based on Ayurvedic food preparations. Breakfast is served here at 08:30 AM the lunch at 01:00 PM and the dinner at 07:00 PM the water given here to drink is the herbal water mostly. If one doesn't like to drink are provided with boiled lukewarm water for drinking purpose.

Medicines: All Ayurvedic medicines are manufactured within the Mana itself. Here apart from general medicines, the separate medicines are also prepared to treat is patients according to the herbal values and quantities needed for a patient who comes here for treatments.

Doctors and other Staffs: It has got resident doctors 24 hours to look after its patients. There is also a resident doctor for consultations. They are certified with BAMS. Apart from professional doctors it has got well trained traditional massagers, Kalari Trainers, Ayurveda tutors, Attenders and helpers staffs for Ayurveda center.

Facilities: The structures found here is traditional one mainly. But these are having modern amenities inside these old traditional buildings it has got single and double bed room with attached western toilet. The interior is of classic type which is very attractive to look.

Ayurvedic Research: A good platform is given to Ayurveda learners as profession is provided here. It has many students from various Ayurvedic colleges who come here and learn the secrets of preparing medicine and they do provide their knowledge here about the latest in research studies and their results.

Ayurvedic Massages: The complete massage is done here from toe to head. These are done by peoples who have learned this art as customs in their family. It comprises of oil and herbal massages. The ladies are done with a lady massager and gents and done by gent's massager. Complete privacy is there in the traditional massage huts with bathing facility. The Kalari Payathu

The Kalari is the traditional martial art of Kerala peoples. It was practiced since the ancient times as a war form. But presently it is thought as a general well being of body and mind. Since, it has many stretching exercise which makes them unique to learn and practice for feel good daily by doing this art in the morning time. This Mana teaches this ancient art to its aspirants within the premises by professional who have learned as customs in their family. This also includes the sword fights, Mala Yudam or the wrestling, kol Attam and Marmam Adi are thought to person who are really interested to learn this art form from its origin place. This requires very sharp mind and concentration. One's body must be flexible to stretch and bent in all positions. The Chavitti Uzhichil is done to its trainees to get this flexibility which is a special oil massage done with feet. This is a high pressure massage all over the legs, hands and back of a person to get their muscles and nerves well fit to take the Kalari classes. It has much position to be maintained while practicing and there are also many types of jumps and rest down position which are the right and exact way to begin and rest from an action. The Palghat and Retreat at Poomully Mana

The Palghat is in Pal Ghats Valley of the Western Ghats, which is the only opening in south towards the Kerala and Tamil Nadu land. These are greater Mountains of Western Ghats in the central Kerala. It is a scenic village till now and has rivers, dams, pasture lands and beautiful peoples around it. It is an excellent cultural place also. This is a great place to get relished along with Mother Nature in the gods own country. This is the only district in Kerala which is untouched by modernization and still there are many traditional structures and values still preserved by its people of this land.
