Vaidya is the term used in Ayurvedic for Physician. Vaidya is the one who has a perfect knowledge and vast experience regarding the subject matters of Ayurveda. It is to be noted that it actually it demands an arduous and long training in the theory and practice of the Ayurvedic system under a preceptor or a Guru. The procedures of treatment that is perfectly followed in Panchajanya Ayurveda Ashrama are known as the five procedures of Ayurveda or Ayurvedeya Pancha Karma. They are Vamana {Emesis}, Virechana {Purgation}, Nasya {nasal medication}, Vasti {administration of medicines through Anus} and Rakthamokshana {blood letting}. On the other hand, innovative treatment procedures such as Nyavara Kidi or Njyavara Kizhi that is highly rejuvenating have been successfully practiced. The process of pouring of warm oil over head or Shirodhara is another important such procedure of treatment which has been giving immediate relief for diseases such as paralysis and migraine from time immemorial.

Panchajanya Ayurveda Ashrama provides effective and efficient treatment for Asthma, Joint Diseases, Calculi, Diabetes, Obesity, Skin diseases, Infertility, Mental stress, Gastro intestinal disorders, Insomnia, Menstrual disorders and Respiratory disease.
In the midst of nature is Panchajanya Ayurveda Ashrama is situated. Malnadu is the place that is regarded as one of the wettest regions in India, particularly in South India. This place has many Jain temples and Ancient Hindu temples such as Dharmastala, Shringeri, Simhanagadde Jain Basti and Ashwagundeswara (Shiva Temple). This region is famous for its Jog falls. Within 100 kms from this location is situated Horanadu. The highest peak in Chikkamagalur is Meruthi hill. A nearby picnic spot is the back waters of Badra dam. A well known river rafting spot is Bale holle. A perennial green carpet is formed in this region because of good rains for almost six month in a year.
Only five persons are treated as in-patient at a given point of time at Panchajanya Ayurveda Ashrama. Rests of the patients are treated as out-patients. When vacancy arises in the in-patient slot then the out-patient is given a chance to be in-patient.
At Panchajanya Ayurveda Ashrama treatment is usually given for 8 or 15 or 21 or 28 days as per the circumstances and situation of the patients and their severity of the ailment. The cost of treatment largely varies based on the consumed medicine.
There is a need for making advanced payment for treatment booking slots. You can consult with the physician in this asharama regarding slot arrangements. An advance payment of Rs.5000 is charged in the initial stage itself.
Within the Panchajanya Ayurveda Ashrama, patients should wear cloths according to the climatic condition prevailing at this place. All food items will be home prepared, cooked and served hot. There is no need of stocking any type of food. Instructions are given to the patient regarding the food items that can be consumed during treatment.
It is to be remembered that oily and non vegetarian food items should be avoided. On the other hand, Junk food is totally banned during treatment. Patients shouldn't consume alcohol and smoke in the premise of Panchajanya Ayurveda Ashrama.
Chewing pan or using any type of snuff etc is banned in order to make the treatment effective. In case, any patient is caught consuming alcohol and drugs or smoking then their treatment will be stopped immediately and sent back home. Extra care should be taken by all those persons who personally take care of their patient. Normally, in the mornings between 6 am and 9 am, treatment shall be conducted for all the patients within the campus of Panchajanya Ayurveda Ashrama.

The climatic condition of this particular region and Panchajanya Ayurveda Ashrama is pollution free and very salubrious with temperatures ranging from 15 degrees to 28 degrees. Therefore, patients are advised to wear clothing as per cold place in Panchajanya Ayurveda Ashrama.

There are certain rules and regulation notified in the application form for registering with Panchajanya Ayurveda Ashrama. All those given rules and regulation should be strictly followed while staying in this ashram and while availing the treatment. Those who deviate from the given rules and regulation in any circumstances and situations will be warmed immediately. The warning should be taken in a positive terms because it is given for the well-being of the patient so that they are healed soon and can return to normal personal and professional life.
