500 Hours Yoga Teacher training

With World Conscious Yoga Family, yoga instructor courses and 500-hour residential hatha yoga teacher training programs are conducted at the Yoga school at Maa Yoga Ashram. 500 Hours Yoga Teacher training course is a comprehensive course that will familiarize the participants with yoga philosophy and history. It really assists to master and intensify yoga, Pranyama, chanting of mantra and meditation. The body of the participants gains strength and its balancing properties. The course tries to bring better understanding of yogic discipline, cleansing rituals and diet. This course leads to make the participant a good yoga teacher.

Daily Schedule

  • Meditation class is conducted from 5.30am to 6am

  • Yoga class is held from 5.30am to 6am

  • Breakfast is served from 8am to 8.45am

  • Philosophy Discussion is held from 9am to 10.30am

  • Techniques class is held from 10.45 to 12.15pm

  • Lunch is served from 12.30pm to 1pm.

  • Personal time is from 1pm to 2pm.

  • Methodology, Anatomy or Ethics Discussion is held from 2.30pm to 4pm

  • Techniques or Practicum is held from 4.15pm to 6pm

  • Dinner is served from 6pm to 7pm.

  • Kirtan, sharing and meditation is held from 7.30pm to 9pm

  • Studying or journaling in Silence is held from 9pm to 10pm

  • Lights out at 10pm

The split of 500 hours are Techniques and practice are held for 350 hours, 20 hours for practicum, electives for 25 hours, philosophy and ethical conduct for 30 hours, Methodology for 50 hours and 50 hours for learning anatomy and physiology.

Evaluation and Assessment

Assessments will be largely based on practical evaluation and written. An integral part of the training program is discipline. A part of the assessment criterion is Student conduct. In all classes, students who have a minimum of 95% attendance are very important. The course routine must be strictly observed under any situations, circumstances and conditions.

Facilities at Maa Yoga Ashram

Stay and Food Arrangement - This ashram has single rooms, double rooms, sharing rooms and dormitory facilities at this ashram at affordable and reasonable charges. These rooms come with cot, mattress, pillows, bedspread and covers plus basic furniture and curtains. The rooms are spacious and well-ventilated. All the inmates are provided with three meals of vegetarian food items with tea in the break time. The ashram has large kitchen and dinning hall. Most of the ingredients that used in the food process are personally hand picked from the nearby farms. There is a need to book in advance the stay arrangement in order to avoid the last movement disappointment.

Library - The ashram's library is filled with books, journal, lecture reports and magazines related subjects like religion, spirituality, yoga and meditation. The reading room is much spacious with good reading area arrangements.

Garden - The ashram is surrounded by beautiful and attractive gardens that are dotted with colorful plants and large-sized trees. It is the right place to practice yoga and meditation in the open area. There are paths marked for walk and jogging purpose in these garden and park. It is the right place to enjoy nature at its best. It gives calmness and peace to the mind and soul.
