Hari Om Ashram Nadiad Gujarat

Hari Om Ashram is located on Kapadvanj Road, in the village named Juna Bilodara, in the district of Nadiad, in the state of Gujarat, in Western India. It is situated on River Bank of Shedhi. This ashram rightly bridges the gap that serves the serenity. In this particular ashram, initially the Guru ji established the silent temples or meditation halls or Moun Mandirs. It is place to find solitude for reflection in a quiet manner. This ashram can be reached through Nadiad Railway station. Those who are approaching by public transport can start their journey from ST bus stand in order to reach this ashram. Those who wish to air dash can land at the Ahmadabad International and Domestic Airport which is just 65 km away from the ashram.

Hari Om Ashram is the place where all those mediators or sincere seekers can wholeheartedly take a respectful vow of silence and perfectly shut themselves from the outer world voluntarily inside these given rooms in order to penetrate into the deep silence within themselves in search of the desired goals in life. This ashram takes a token donation of just Rs. 5/- and provides them healthy and hygienic food in their closed room through an open window plus laundry facility. It is to be highly noted that this ashram is run completely based on donations given by its students, inmates, guests and wholehearted persons of philanthropic nature. This ashram was founded by Pujya Mota, who is a well-known saint of the state of Gujarat, who had largely dedicated his entire life to selfless service of untouchables or Harijans or poor people.

Life of Pujya Shri Mota

Pujya Shri Mota was born in a village named Savli in the district of Baroda or Vadodara, in the state of Gujarat on 4-9-1898 in the dark phase on the 4th to Samvat 1954 in the month of Badrapad. Swamiji's actual name was Chunilal, his mother's name is Suraj Ba and father's name is Asharam. Their family name is Bhavsar. It is strongly believed that their family migrated to Kalol village. His father demised in 1916. This situation forced him to labour work in order to support his family. This circumstance interrupted his education. He passed the matriculation in 1919. He attended Baroda college from 1919-1920. Suddenly he gave up his education. He then joined Gujarat Vidya Peeth and leaves it all of a sudden again in order to take up service of Harijans.

During 1922, he was really frustrated by fits of Epilepsy nature so he attempted suicide by jumping into river Narmada from the over hanging rock of Garudeswar. He was miraculously saved by certain Divine intervention, later was cured from the said diseases by the act of continuous utterance of the holy mandra 'HARIA AUM' on the wholehearted advice of a local sadhu. This situation, circumstance and condition totally changed him to a great extent. He composed a spiritual poem titled "To The Mind and At Thy Lotus Feet".

On 22nd January, 1923, on Vasanth Panchami Day, he was initiated by Pujya Shri Balayogi. This event happened on a Monday at Hajimanzil that is located in Nadiad. He later at Sai Kheda, Madhya Pradesh, he visits Shri Keshavanandji Maharaj who was his supreme Guru, under Shri Balayogi's advice. He started sleeping wholeheartedly at crematorium situated at Nadiad. It is to be remembered that Harijan Seva became part and parcel of his sadhna or ashram for God's sake plus as dedication to him with a lot of perfection. He goes into samadhi or a trance in 1926 at the main wedding ceremony. His wholehearted utterance of 'HARIA AUM' became suddenly unbroken after suffering a snake bite at Bodal Harijan Ashram in 1927. On the other hand, he published "At Thy Lotus Feet" in1928. With the record sale revenue, he ventured for a pilgrimage to the Himalayas. He visited Shri Upasani Maharaj at Nadiad then goes to a place named Sakuri very near to Shirdi, in the state of Maharastra on his Guru's advice for nearly 7days. He largely experience of the Silent Brahman of Mind in 1930.

He spent two years from 1930-1932 in various jails in Yaravda, Nasik, Visapur and Sabaramati. He realized God with form - the blue form of Shri Krishna in 1934. He visited the aghori sadhu in the Himalayas during 1934-1939. In the Himalaya, he spends some days alone in a cave situated just Dhoonvadhar waterfalls in the state of Madhya Pradesh. He sat in the middle of 21 fires occupying nearly 3 circles in Karanchi. The fire was raised from cowdung cakes. This event happened in the hot month of Chaitra (April-May). It is to be remembered that his vision of Sai Baba of Shirdi has instructed his to go for final meditation to liberation or Mukti. On 23rd July 1976, he passed away from this earth after serving the community and society in the best possible form.

Why Moun Room (Silence Room) at Hari Om Ashram Nadiad?

Pujya Mota had largely experienced several types of difficulties related to basic needs and requirements plus needed peaceful environment when he wished to worship the god. He though strongly in mind that those who wished to pray to God shouldn't face these types of difficulties in life again. So he decided to build meditation rooms and halls for this religious and spiritual purpose. At this ashram, people from all religion such as Parsi, Muslims, Jain, Chirstain, Hindu and harijan can participate in the meditation activities at this ashram. A person from 7 years to nearly 85 years can wholeheartedly indulge in the activities related meditation with a lot of perfection.

At this ashram, just a token of Rs.5 is only taken from the seekers or participants. This token money includes the food arrangement for breakfast, lunch and supper plus tea in the break hours. At present this ashram has only 9 silent temples or meditation halls or Moun Mandirs. Currently, most of the silent temples or meditation halls or Moun Mandirs are occupied throughout the year. It is necessary to book the silent temples or meditation halls or Moun Mandirs in advance so that the seekers or participants in their desired activity related to meditation. Once entered into silent temples or meditation halls or Moun Mandirs, then they can come out only on the prescribed date and time from it after deep meditation.
